DO THE BEST YOU CAN WITH WHAT YOU HAVE! Try sharing; even if it's just a smile!

Quit blaming President Obama. Quit blaming President Bush, Clinton, Bush, Regan, Carter, Ford, Nixon.........etc. We are supposed to be a nation of the people, for the people, BY the people.  What does that mean? We need to get up and get it ourselves. Take that job at McDonald's. Flip a few burgers for a while. Let's do what we gotta do to get on track again, then we can have joy in our lives again.  The presidents are handed down garbage from the previous presidents.  Let's quit blaming and start understanding that they are doing the best they can with what they have.  Everyone I talk to is so angry right now; rightfully so.  Some people don't know where there next meal is coming from.  Some people have lost their homes. I personally believe that we need to help each other and we will begin to see things change.  The tighter we hang on to things, the faster they will be ripped away from us.  SHARE and we will begin to see a difference. SMILE Jesus loves you!!

JESUS WEPT!!

I wept!! ( For 3 day's.) I learned about mourning this week and that feeling you get when you lose someone. It was more painful than the death of a loved one.  I don't believe I  have felt this bad since I was a girl. When you kind of pride yourself on knowing people and come to realize that you don't know someone like you thought you did, it is like a football coach getting that ice water bath after the championship win!! WOW!! SHOCK CITY!! I know God will continue to bless my family and theirs and I hope that someday we will be able to come together and keep company once again. The lesson?: EVERYTHING is temporary.  So do not take anything for granted.  Your friends are like precious metals which need maintenance to stay shiny.  Maintain your friendships so you will never lose out. Wouldn't it be great to be like Jesus and be able to raise our friendships like He did Lazarus?

1ST Sunday in ADVENT!!! YIPPEE!!! ENJOY THE DAY!!!

WOW !!! It is already here!! CHRISTmas and Easter have always been my 2 favorite Holiday's.  In the secular world, CHRISTmas season is officially underway as of Black Friday.  I just love that so many atheists and agnostics go shopping on Black Friday.  NO REALLY it cracks me up!!   Personally I really want to look for the coming of Christ this year and go through the proper channels spiritually.  Fasting is important all over the Bible and I have not done that.  Quiet prayer is also important and I have not been doing that too much either.  May this CHRISTmas season bring everyone in your life to a quiet journey to new life, and for peace in the world for everyone.

CONCENTRATE!! When you have a pile, make a file.

Is your life like a paper strewn desk with no purpose?  Did you ever find yourself trying to focus and not being able to? What is the cure for that? ADD, my foot. ADHD, I don't think so. Quiet and reading the Bible helps me to get focused and reminds me what I should be trying to accomplish and how I should be trying to live. Now all we have to figure out  is what to focus on!!! Prioritize. Our lives have many piles. Tend to each item, file it away, and you will find things are getting accomplished and then you can be done with them and move on to the next thing. May God continually bless you and all that you do.

Funny thing. I looked in the Bible and didn't find any of these words!! Another funny thing. I looked in ALL of these words and found GOD!! He does social networking also.  Go figure.  He is everywhere.  Aways has been, always will be.  I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving and I hope you find God no matter which search engine you use!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

In my lifetime, I have done some horrible things. People have done horrible things to me.  I have also had some great times and met some fabulous people. I am so thankful and grateful for that.  A wise man once told me, "Live your life as if it were your last day on earth". When I was younger, I didn't give it much thought. Now I stop to think about when I die.  I already know my eternal destination, but I wonder what people might say about me.  I hope they will say she always fed the poor, had a great heart, left her door open to all of those in need and (made some poor choices because of it), she was thankful for life, but mostly, she loved well.  I hope they don't say she was selfish, arrogant, self serving, unforgiving, bold, totally out for herself, angry........you get the point.  Lord please watch over all of the people in my life. THANK you for friends that have been there for me even when I haven't been there for them and please continue to give me a grateful heart and bless their lives abundantly. THANK YOU!!

ANGER!!!! I'm as mad as Hell and I'm not gonna take this anymore!!!

This was from the movie "Network".  I watched it on You Tube last night for the first time in 30 years. Strangely enough it totally pertains to today and the state of affairs we are in right now.  We really do have to watch our anger though.  It IS OK for us to be angry but just because we are, doesn't mean we should sin.  We are not supposed to let the sun go down on our anger.  Makes sense to me.  How great would the world be if we didn't go to bed angry. I think if you are angry, or depressed, try skipping!!!

The HEARTof the problem is usually a problem of the HEART.

I first heard Kirk Cameron say this.  WOW!!!  How true it is.  Usually you can change your situation if you are willing to change your heart.  Here are a few tidbits straight from the Bible. (Different translations.)
A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, but with a heartache comes depression.
How blessed is the man who fears always, but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
My son, if you have a wise heart, my heart will rejoice as well.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 
There are so many passages in the Bible about the heart.  Lord give me wisdom and strength to soften my heart to others, and to keep a joyful spirit so my heart is always right and my problems will be to a minimum!
The Gift

To talk or not to talk............that is the question?

Communication is so important in life.  Statistics say that marriages fail mostly for two reasons, lack of communication and finances.  Your marriage is failing miserably especially if you have no communication about finances!!  If you let emotions get involved with that type of communication you are probably in trouble.  It says in the Bible, Proverbs 10:19, ( I am paraphrasing), too much talk leads to sin.  You are wise if you keep your mouth shut. We need to learn to balance when we communicate and how much we say.  Lord help me to communicate in a way so as to tell the truth but not hurt anyone in the process.

When ever you do something, finish to a satisfactory conclusion!! God did.

After God created the heavens and the earth He rested. We know that God FINISHED all of the work he had to do in 6 days and he took the 7th day and rested. And because God rested on the 7th day, he made the day Holy. If we are made in His likeness and image, we need to do the same. Why are people in their 30's & 40's dropping dead of heart attacks? Why is cancer so prevalent in today's society? Why are we spending over $10 billion on antidepressants every year? MAYBE we just aren't finishing our work to a satisfactory conclusion and then taking a break and resting!!! God did!! You should too!! You deserve it!!

An Attitude of Gratitude.

Why is it so difficult for us to stop and give thanks?  Thanksgiving is less than a week away. What is Thanksgiving anyway? The pilgrims had it right.  I wish we understood how it was to live back in those days.  Work hard, and be grateful for the work.  Feast hard but most importantly gather round and GIVE THANKS.  For EVERYTHING.  Why thank God? For life. Why thank family? For always being there. What is a Friend? Friends are family without the same bloodline. Thank you Lord for the life you have given me, the family and friends, and the work that you have allowed us to do. Please help me to keep an attitude of gratitude every day not just on Thanksgiving.

Dear Lord, please give me PATIENCE, and I want it NOW!!!

That was one of the greatest prayers of all time. Picture this: you just finish setting your formal Thanksgiving table and little Jimmy comes in and spills purple grape juice on your white linen tablecloth!!! Really now, try to remain calm and patient. Or; it is a beautiful summer day and little Susie comes in from outside wearing her brand new designer shorts outfit that Aunt Tillie purchased for her birthday.  She comes in and is all excited about showing her friends her new outfit (and playing a little softball), she proceeds to run to the bathroom.  As she turns to go, her backside is totally grass stained!!!!!!  PATIENCE!!!   It is so hard to be patient in this hectic life we lead nowadays. I will truly pray for patience for you and me and the whole world. It would be a much nicer place if everyone were patient.

Humility. Even God is humble!!

We all know that the Bible is the word of God right? Well think about it. God created light, heaven, earth, land and sea, and saw these things and said it was GOOD, right? He also clothed the earth with grass and trees, fruits etc., created the sun and moon, the seasons, and saw all of that was GOOD also. He filled the earth with life; in the sea and on the land, and that was GOOD. Finally he created US, (Man and woman) to take care of everything on the earth, he thought that was VERY GOOD! GOOD? VERY GOOD? It's AWESOME!! Thank you God for creating everything (me included). You truly are AWESOME!!

Do not go to heaven to get to Jesus, go to Jesus to get to heaven.

Pretty profound huh? I really loved this saying when I heard it the other day. All of us Christians need to remember that.  We get so busy in our everyday lives. We try to remember to be good Samaritans, go to church, to pray to God, and what do you know, sometimes we just forget about Jesus!! I am sorry Jesus.  I pray to remember to keep you in my heart and mind first and when I falter please forgive me.

MIRACLES!!! They are not RARE, they are EVERYWHERE!!!

A baby being born. Cancer going into remission. The love of a recovering alcoholic. A friend. The homeless receiving a home. The poor becoming wealthy. These things are truly miracles and they are all around us. Everyone knows someone that one of these things pertains to.  So,simply stated, we have all known a miracle in our life. I feel like our glasses should be half full right now even though they feel like they are half empty. Thank you Lord for the gift of miracles.

FRIENDSHIP. My friends are my most precious Gifts from God!!

The song "You've Got a Friend" used to be one of my favorite songs.  Jesus was the ultimate true friend. The greatest gift you could give is to lay down your life for a friend. So many of the all time greatest sayings came straight from The Bible. Nowadays kids say, "Yeah, I got your back". Do they?  I mean really. Do they know what it means to die for a friend or do they just mean, "I'm on your side."?  I believe with all of my heart that some of those kids would genuinely lay down their lives. Others would turn and run for their own. Which kind of friend are you?  I pray to God to please help me to be the friend I know He wants me to be. I love my friends so much!!

And lead us not into TEMPTATION.........

As I laid in bed last night saying my prayers, I asked myself, "Who leads us into temptation?  Do we allow the Devil to? Does God test us and put temptation in our way (so as to lead us)? Or do we just flat out lead ourselves into temptation?".  @ 51 years old I do believe that all three are true. We know right from wrong. "The Devil made me do it!!".  Yeah right. YOU did it.  "God created everything so, He also created temptation so it's His fault if I sinned!!".  Yeah right. YOU sinned. "How can I lead myself into temptation?  That doesn't make sense".   eg. You don't want to get pregnant, so don't go with your boyfriend or girlfriend to an empty house where you know for a fact nobody will be home. Being alone with your significant other puts you into a position of wanting to sin.  Always have people around you or go somewhere public so as not to put yourself into temptations way. The moral to the story:  TEMPTATION is EVERYWHERE!!!! Learn what temptation is and where it comes from and STAY AWAY from it.  You will find a peace that passes all understanding and God will bless you abundantly!!

There is truly only 1 guaranty in life. IF we are born, we are GONNA die!!!

You're born, you live, you die. I know you have heard it a million times. What does it mean to be born again? I believe more now than ever, if you really visualize yourself as a new born baby, you are a clean slate.  No anger. No hatred. Only a being dependant on others to take care of you. Feeding you, clothing you and sheltering you are the only true needs of a baby.  Beyond that there is God. God is Love. With Love comes kindness and compassion, understanding and gentleness. Anything not of God is anger and cruelty, condemnation and harshness. When you were that naked baby, were your surroundings of God? Answer this question honestly and you will know if you need  to be born again.

FAITH!! Always had it, have it now, will take it with me to my eternal destination.

F = Father - who gives us everything
A = Absolution  - Jesus dying on the cross for our sins
I = Intercession - for the ridiculous things we have done and our Father  had to step in
T = Teacher - who Jesus was, who we should be
H = Heaven - the ultimate destination

Look at the end result of faith.  Heaven. In order to get to Heaven, we must have it.

In foxholes there are no atheists!!

Happy Veterans Day!! I heard it from my Dad and I heard it from my husband.  God was always present in times of war. Soldiers pray to Him daily. Today I will pray for all of our fallen veterans and their families as well as all of the soldiers serving our country now.  God Bless all of you and God Bless America!!!

Until a person gets his priorities in life straight, everything else is going to be out of order.

Jesus said, "Seek God's Kingdom first and His righteousness, and all these other things will be added unto you." This is THE priority for happiness, success and joy.

Today is the day the Lord has made.....

....let us truly rejoice and be glad in it.  REMEMBER THIS!!!

You don't know about a man until you walk a mile in his shoes.

Honeyism.  My grandmother's nickname was Honey. She had great wisdom and taught us much. This quote was life changing for me. As I got older, I began to understand what she was trying to teach me. The difficulty of life causes you to be angry and judge others. If you really know what a man is going through, you can truly be come more humble and less judgemental. Have a peaceful and blessed day.

You and me against the world!!

Helen Reddy's song "You and Me Against the World", was a cool song for me when I was growing up.  It reminded me of me and my daddy.  Dad died in '03 and Mom died in '09. As an adult orphan now, it takes on a whole new meaning and I feel like God is singing it to me!! Look up the lyrics and try Him in your life!! .  If you have God, you have everything!!!

You only get the truth from two places........

I always taught my boys : "Information only comes from one of two places, either the horses mouth or the horses buttox." ( And we know what comes from the horses Buttox!!) The Bible is the horses mouth. GO THERE FOR YOUR INFORMATION!!! Peace be with you.

God is Love and Love is Fun!!!

Who said God doesn't have a sense of humor? He created me didn't he? I am old school and used to replace God with the word Love in some of the songs I would listen to.  "All you need is God....All you need is God...." and some people thought that "I Don't Know How to Love Him" was a mushy love song. It was talking about Jesus!! Don't you love that? Enjoy your day. Try skipping!!

Rejoice in the LORD always and again I say REJOICE!!

Wouldn't it be a better world if we stopped blaming each other, hurting each other, lying to each other, and just started rejoicing in each other??

Yes that's the book for me , I stand alone on the word of God, the B.I.B.L.E.!!!

God has given you gifts. Find out what they are and SHARE them with the world.

I always tried to teach our boys this great tibit of widom.  They are turning out to be great young men and for that I will be ever grateful. Always know you are blessed especially if you are following that formula for life.

After hearing this in church yesterday, it is a great reminder to be quiet and listen to others as we would love to be listened to. Happy All Saints Day!!
