Goodbye old. Hello new!! Great new era beginning in work life and personal life.  Look for new beginnings and with God's grace, alot of new starts for some very talented people.

I am so proud to announce VOYTEK!!! He was born in Poland and is here in the USA dazzling us with his fabulous music every Wednesday night @ Ballroom City in Villa Park, IL. (630) 834-7994. He is like the best one man band you will ever experience and just an all around nice guy.  He plays all of the favorites for ballroom dancing with a little bit of country for those country enthusiasts.  You have to hear him to believe it and his voice is like butter!! ONLY $ 5  per person for an evening of REAL entertainment.

Eric is now a married man!

There is only one thing better than being a mom. It's being a mother-in-law. When you have raised your children and they choose well, there is nothing on this earth that makes you more proud! A most glorious day was had by all and I can not thank God enough for stepping in and clearing up the day the way he did. Some think it was a miracle.  I am grateful and blessed for my husband, my sons. my family, my new family, especially Jackie and I want to share it with the world.  Thank you all so much for coming and thank You Lord for being ever present in my boy's lives.  Luke made a funny and thanked everyone for coming on such short notice!! That was great. I am going to collapse right now after a very long joyous day. Lord I love you and am ever grateful for all of my blessings!

I am thrilled.  Haven't posted for a while but am happy and excited to share with the world that my son is getting married.  God works in mysterious ways and I believe in my heart of hearts that my new daughter-in-law was truly God sent. The Blessed event takes place on August 20, 2011 and everyone is busy getting ready.  I want to congratulate them and Pray that God wraps His arms around them and protects them from all evil.  I pray that He showers them with the Holy Spirit and fills their lives with Love, Friendship, Patience,Warmth, Tenderness and Compassion for each other and the world.

Those are words to an old Karen Carpenter song. Don't let any day or anyone get you down. When you wake up in the morning, GET UP!!! Shout for JOY!!! If you woke up it means you are ALIVE!!!
PROVE IT ! !
In my own personal struggle with life, and talking with many people, I find that the most depressed people are the ones who don't know what to do with their free time. They sit at home and wallow in their own mire. Here are a few suggestions:
Get off of the internet and ........DANCE!! SKIP!! SING!! Go to a neighbors house and bring them cookies!! Do something nice for a senior citizen. Ask them about their life and sit and listen to the WHOLE story!!! Don't interrupt, don't say a word. Just listen.  2 things might happen, 1.) You might learn something and 2.) You JUST might enjoy it. Find your local dance studio and take a dance lesson. (Ballroom City is Mine!!) Go to your local bookstore and start up a conversation with a complete stranger. Be solution oriented. If you are depressed, get out of your own way and get moving. God bless all of those who are depressed today or are having mental struggles of any kind. Lord show them a new beginning and remind them that it is better to give than to receive.  They will surely find joy if they seek to help others and stop thinking about themselves.  I know I did.

Poor, Broken, Un-loved, Alone, Lonely, Desperate.......

Are you feeling any of these things?  I know that I have from time to time.  Look at the folks in Japan right now. I am astounded at all of the brokenness in the world right now. I can't believe all of the "Natural" disasters that have occurred in the last decade.  I can't believe a lot of things.  I can believe in us though.  We the people of the United States are so loving and giving.  LOOK AROUND PEOPLE!!! We are BLESSED.  We (personally) are still cleaning up from the flood that occurred in our neighborhood last year.  Why complain?  (Nobody wants to listen anyway) We have our health, friends, and family, but most of all LIFE.  My grandmother used to say, "Where there is LIFE there is HOPE". Some say that was a Chinese proverb.  Others say it was an old Roman Quote.  Still others say it was from the Portuguese. Who cares where it originated? It is a great saying and a terrific way to get through some of the rough times in life.  May God Bless EVERYONE with the gift of HOPE!!

As my son's senior year from high school is coming to a close, I started thinking. WOW!! That is a difficult task for me sometimes.  THINKING, that is. All of these little sayings and tongue twisters came into my mind.  Where did they come from? How did they start?  I think I will think some more tomorrow and try to research the answer to those questions. I'll see what else I can come up with.  If you have been following my blog at all, you will see initially I seemed to have a purpose , writing every day and sharing some cool thoughts and prayers. Now I am writing when I have a few free minutes and no time to research. I still continue to pray every day and I pray to God that everyone's year this year is peaceful, happy and prosperous but most of all HEALTHY!! And remember, a prayer a day keeps the doctor away!! In Jesus name, Amen.

I just found out that you can make a sentence with 15 letter words.  How? you ask, I Googled it!!  I don't care if you have other search engines, use GOOGLE!!! I  Google everything these days. It has helped me out of a jam a few times.  Anyway, I haven't been able to blog these days as I am in a new business venture and my time is limited.  I will probably get back to it as things settle down, But in the mean time use your search engine to the max. GOOGLE - GOOGLE - GOOGLE - GOOGLE!!!!! That's my choice.

If 25-33% of the world population is Christian, why aren't we a more peaceful and, happy world?  I am a firm believer that all  we need is a big swift kick in the pants.  Really, how much do we need? Where can we get it?  Why are we just living for ourselves and not trying to make this a better place for everyone to live?  New International Version (©1984)

What kind of house will you build for me?...[Acts 7:49]  After reading this, I started to ask myself what  kind of a place have I built for the Lord to rest his feet? Is it a place that I would want to go for solace and peace? NOT!! No wonder he gets angry.   He sees all of the anger, bickering and foolishness. Like any father wanting the best for his children, He wants us to rest in Him.  While driving yesterday, I noticed that about 90% of the drivers were either talking on their cell phones, or just had a puss on their face about 10 feet long. What happened to joy?  I know they weren't talking to God, 'cause God don't need no cell phone. As for the ones with the long faces, obviously they were not thinking about God or there would have been a joyful, or peaceful look on their faces. LOOK in the Mirror!!! (I did and about fell on the floor.) ASK yourself what do other people see when they look at you? Lord, I promise to try my hardest to; be happier, help others, and to do Your will.  I pray that others will do the same, in Jesus name, AMEN

GROUPON - FROM 100 TO 4000 EMPLOYEES IN 1 YEAR!!

I stopped at Jiffy Lube yesterday to get my tires checked and heard these statistics on the TV. What makes a company grow like that? Phenomenal!!! I was SO impressed with the numbers. But after watching for a little bit, I saw a lot of people working furiously on the computer and wondered about personal connection, real conversations, real friendships...... Our country is in such a sad state of affairs right now. I feel like we need to re-connect to each other. Person to person. When was the last time you held your husbands hand and just took a walk and talked? (Not about business.) When was the last time you rubbed a friends back just because you know how good it feels? When was the last time you shook someones hand without using hand sanitizer. We need to loosen our shorts a little bit and relax and reconnect. JUST DO IT! It might be frightening at first, but I guarantee you will feel great if you do. My favorite movie for understanding the concept of connection is "Patch Adams". This movie is one of the all time greats in my estimation for really connecting. Understanding the human element. Lord please help us to all be a little more like Patch Adams, and discover what it means to be human. I ask this in Jesus name.

That means us carnivores need to stop dissin' you vegetarians, and you vegetarians need to stop dissin'  us!!!  We really need to start living together to uplift each other and stop being so critical of those different than us. Speaking of critical... I am a ballroom dancer (30 years) by trade and we did a performance a few  years ago that saddened me. (True Story)  After the performance, a 10 year old girl came up to us (after we had received many compliments on our routine) and said, "I was watching your feet." (Dead silence) So I smiled, teased, and responded with, "Did we do OK?"  She frowned and said, "I just wanted to see how many mistakes you would make, but you didn't so I guess it was OK."  10 YEARS OLD!!!! HOW SAD!!!
Dear Lord, PLEASE  help the world to start building each other up and stop tearing each other down.  Teach our young people to see the good in everything, not the negative. I ask this in Jesus name, AMEN

100 BLOG POSTS TODAY! Happy Anniversary to ME! (& Happy Birthday Dad)

This may not seem like such a big deal to you, but this is the first time in the history of my life that I did anything 100 times.  Monk would be so proud. Remember the old saying slow and steady wins the race? Well usually that is the way my husband does things and he is masterful at it.  I am usually wired and scattered, but GREAT at last minute tasks which take me right up to the wire and then BAM!!! DONE. I really wanted to stay with this blog to see if I can be consistent with just one thing in my life.  I hope anyone reading this has gotten a few laughs and maybe even learned something.  I will continue to write and I am thrilled to have completed my 1st goal.   Today's prayer for the world is from 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."  (GREAT passage.)   Lord please give each and every one of us the strength to keep fighting the good fight and FINISH the things we start, but most importantly, to keep our faith. In Jesus name, AMEN.

Those great Super Bowl Commercials.  I love the super bowl just for the commercials.  1/2 time was OUTSTANDING this year also.  I was talking to my son last night.  During the game he was having a great in depth talk with someone on Christ.  WE were talking about the whole resurgence of spirituality and Christianity.  It is on the upswing. I LOVE it. I was reading scripture after our conversation and found "foolishness" in the Bible.  People can be silly and not act as a fool.  There is a difference.

I pray daily for God (in Jesus Name) to bring those together who have been living not so great lives (including me) and giving all of us wisdom and knowledge to do what is right and not to act a fool.

Are You Fat Today?? I AM !! After chips and dips,BBQ beef,salsa.....

I knew that making the dip and eating all of the goodies during the super bowl was gonna make me fat today. I did it anyway. WHY?? Am I a moron? Am I just lacking self-discipline? Why do we do the things we do? Who can I blame? ME ME ME ! I can't blame Obama, society, the weather, cats, dogs, my brother, my husband, my kids....... You get it. The only thing I can blame my foolishness on is ME!!! Open mouth insert healthy food and exercise.  That is the only way to is stay in good shape.  Lord PLEASE give me the discipline to watch what I eat and remind me that this body of mine is a temple and help me to care for it better.  I ask this in Jesus name.  Lord, also please watch over all of your children who are suffering from obesity and/or depression. AMEN

SUPER BOWL XLV - On FIRE !!

  Why is everyone so into Super Bowl??  Even ME!! I just got done making dip for chips and I am getting ready to bake cookies.  Why? To get fat?  The store was packed yesterday? I am sure the grocers' are so happy this weekend.  The one thing all social classes have in common today is SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!  From the rich to the poor, just about everyone is watching or listening to the game tonight.  And who makes money? The grocers!! Oops, I forgot, the players and Bookies also. I am not begrudging anyone making money, but some of the salaries these individuals make could feed a country.  

Lord, please watch over the players and their families this evening.  Keep them safe and in your care.  Remind them to do YOUR will and give back to all of those who have supported them and helped them to get where they are today. Help them to remember the glory is YOURS 1st and then their own.  I ask this in Jesus name. AMEN.

  (FYI : In 2010 Each player on the winning team received $83,000.  Each player on the losing team got $42,000.  That was just BONUS money.  That did not include their standard pay.)

If you do the "right" thing when the conventional wisdom is to do the "smart" thing, Blessed are you.
This week is a real time of reflection.  The blizzard MADE us stay in and think. Doing the right thing is not always easy.  Lord I pray that we strive to do the "right" thing.

This week, if you put yourself second for the needs of another, Blessed are you.
This one really hits home today as there are so many in need and stranded due to the storm.  Lord PLEASE watch over those who are in need of help in Chicago today.  Watch over the elderly, the hungry, the poor and those who are stranded today.  Please give those of us with health, wisdom and knowledge of what to do in this kind of severe weather to use common sense and help others as necessary.  In Jesus name, AMEN.

This was the homily at church yesterday. I am going to give you one a day till they run out. The pastor let me keep a copy and I was grateful.

I MISSED POSTING YESTERDAY!!!!! Well kiss my Ascot!!

I seriously forgot to post yesterday.  No, I mean SERIOUSLY forgot.  It was 12:02 A.M. when I realized it.   51 years old and I have no real discipline.  Our business takes me in many areas of life and I work my butt off but unlike my husband who works out daily, and my kids who are also disciplined in working out and in their music, this was the first discipline I have ever had.  I feel like that alcoholic who was recovering for 10 years and took that first drink.  It's only a blog I know, but I am feeling very ashamed of myself today.  How can you go from being SOOO proud of yourself to being SOOO ashamed.  WOW emotions are a weird thing.  Well today I am back on track and I still love the Lord more than ever and am blessed mored than anyone will ever know.  Great friends, family, life, love,.....and the list goes on. Lesson for today; you can't take back time. Once it is gone, it is GONE.  Maybe I will post twice today to make up for it but is that legal? (Lol)  Anyway thank you Lord for my life and please watch over all of the people that I say I am going to pray for and forget to.  You know who they are. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors.(2 Corinthians6:8) Read on in Corinthians as there is great wisdom there!!

GUNS, they're a BLAST!!

Again I just wanted to get your attention so you can talk about other stuff!! Did it work?  Anyway, back in Bible days, the host of a special occasion was supposed to have someone kill the fatted calf and rejoice and PARTY!! You were supposed to invite your friends and families over, have wine, and eat.  But it also tells in the Bible about drunkards and gluttony. What to do. I wonder how they would kill the fatted calf.  Even though I am not a gun advocate, I can see why you might want to use one for mercy's sake.  Especially if you were not too good with a spear, or bow and arrow, or club. Thank you for indulging my ramblings today as gun talk came up last night and I can't get it out of my head.  Interesting.  Lord please watch over those who use guns.  Whether it be in law enforcement, or a hunter, that they use their heads when it comes to the use of  firearms.  Please stop senseless killings and watch over the families of victims of gun violence. I ask this in Jesus name.

Today is the 1st day of the rest of your life....

I have always liked that quote.  To me it means that you can start over every day as if it were a first. A new beginning. In order to effect a new beginning for others, I am going to start a new blog with just one quote on it.  No comments or opinions from me.  I would like to share the wisdom of the ages from people I admire most.  Then maybe we could fix this poor old world one person at a time; one day at a time.  God, please watch over President Obama and all of the people under him making decisions right now.  We are all affected
by his decision making whether we voted for him or not. Lord please watch over our country as well, and bless us with health, happiness and prosperity.  I ask this in Jesus name. AMEN

Steelers vs. Packers !! Who are you voting for?

I have my money on Jesus. As much as I like football, basketball, volleyball, horseback riding.... I love Jesus more.  2010 was a difficult year for me and I had to re-evaluate my thinking.  In the last couple of years, I have lost some friends, some family and some money.  Guess what?  None of it matters as long as I have my faith!  Great Bible verse: (from 2 Timothy)  I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first existed in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am convinced that this faith also exists in you. All of 2-Timothy is good, but this particular verse reminded me we all have faith in us. It has been sent down through all generations. We just need to be reminded of it from time to time. May the Grace of God and the Fellowship of Jesus Christ be with ALL of YOU!!

Caleb Hanie born on 9/11/85 in Dallas.......

Cool huh? I was so impressed with this young man yesterday, I had to do a search on him today.  I have always admired young people who can get up there and get the job done at a young age.  I could NEVER do anything like that at that age. In fact, I am struggling with my  blog right now and need to redefine what I am trying to accomplish with it.  I love kids. (Anyone under 30 is a kid to me these days.)  I know that the world is in their hands right now, and technology is moving so fast.  After the game last night we watched the Julie/Julia project.  Blogging was much easier back then ('03-'04).  Everyone is so busy trying to out do everyone else that all of the messages are getting lost.  So that is where I am right now, 51 years old and trying to get my message out there.  What is my message? Where is there?  Maybe I'll figure it out sometime.  In the meantime, I pray that God holds my friends and family up in a special way today and answers all of their prayers. I ask all of this in Jesus Name. AMEN
